Liturgy & Religious Education
The leading department in the school — because it gives the light of Christ to every other department. Liturgy shapes the spiritual rhythm of school life, term after term: teaching prayer and catechism, animating Mass, administering sacraments, and holding termly recollections for pupils and staff alike.
Also carries: reading the Word of God, children evangelising fellow children, church music festivals, and contributing to our mother church’s activities.
Welfare
Led by the Senior Woman Teacher, this department is where girls find a guide and a counsellor. There is no other exposure quite like it — listening to girls’ issues at school, and at times extending that same support to parents.
Girls are more vulnerable than boys, so the Senior Woman Teacher stands in the shoes of every parent to mentor each girl child — with cases needing deeper attention referred directly to the Headteacher.
MDD — Music, Dance & Drama
A very active department that builds and develops pupils’ talent through singing, dancing, drama and musical instruments. MDD helps girls relax and replenish their minds after the demands of the classroom.
The department participates actively in circular music, and consistently leads — with others following — across Makindye Division.
Academics
Oversees curriculum, teaching quality and learner progress across every class — the engine behind two decades as Kampala’s best government-aided school.
Banakizito
An association of all Catholic primary school children in the Kampala Archdiocese, founded by the late Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, is built on three pillars: loving, caring, and sharing.
Our patron saint is St. Kizito, the youngest of the martyrs. Through Banakizito, our pupils take part in charitable activities: donating to the needy and visiting the sick, the imprisoned, and people with disabilities.
