A school built on partnership
St. Joseph Nsambya Girls Primary School is a Catholic, government-aided boarding school in Nsambya zone, Makindye Division, Kampala. It sits within the Kampala Catholic Archdiocese and is managed day-to-day by the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Nkokonjeru, in partnership with government affiliation — a structure that has shaped the school since the sisters first took over its administration in 1957.
Though founded to uplift the girl child, the school has over the years opened a small number of places to boys, strictly in day section and only up to Primary Three — currently reserved for children of teaching staff and pupils of St. Joseph’s Fraternity, a sister school. That spirit of inclusiveness runs through everything we do: JOPRINSA welcomes girls regardless of financial background, holding fast to the Franciscan concern for the poor and needy that first brought the sisters to this hill in 1903.
